PituRooms in Salatiga, Indonesia, stands out as a Michelin Key Selected property, celebrated for its innovative design and exceptional guest experience. Often referred to as "the slimmest hotel in the world," it offers a unique and memorable stay in the heart of Salatiga.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

PituRooms consistently garners high praise from guests, with an impressive overall rating of 9.5 on platforms like Agoda and a "Fantastis" 4.8/5 from 297 reviews on Tiket.com. The sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing it as a "unique hotel" and praising its "great ambiance" and "exceptional value." The Michelin Key selection further underscores its commitment to quality and a distinctive experience.

2. Key Highlights

Guests are particularly enamored with PituRooms' "unique experience" stemming from its remarkably slim architectural design. The hotel's modern amenities, inviting atmosphere, and strategic location are frequently highlighted. Its distinctive aesthetic, featuring artworks from Indonesian artists and numerous "Instagramable spots," adds to its charm. The friendly and attentive staff also consistently receives high marks, making it a favorite among travelers.

3. Room Quality

PituRooms offers seven thoughtfully designed rooms, including Studio and Deluxe types, each spanning an efficient 11 square meters. Despite their compact size, the rooms are described as comfortable, with space being well-utilized through clever design. Each room boasts a distinct style and color palette, equipped with modern air conditioning, comfortable queen-size beds with high-quality linens, and pillows often cited as "the most heavenly in Salatiga." In-room amenities include smart TVs with Netflix, Bluetooth speakers, coffee/tea makers, hair dryers, safes, and en-suite bathrooms with hot rain showers and American Standard fittings.

4. Dining Experience

The hotel features a top-floor restaurant, PituLounge, which provides guests with magnificent views, notably of Mount Merbabu. It offers a casual, café-like atmosphere, serving breakfast exclusively for hotel guests in the morning before opening to the public from noon. The menu includes "sumptuous meals and jajanan pasar" (traditional snacks) with a "warteg style meals with a twist," offering local flavors. Complimentary snacks and coffee are also available. Several local eateries, such as Lotus Coffee & Resto, MayLeen Cafe & Resto, Planet Kitchen, Toko Roti 'Tegal', and Wonder Bakery, are also located nearby, offering a diverse culinary adventure.

5. Service & Staff

The service and staff at PituRooms receive outstanding feedback, with a remarkable rating of 9.7 for staff performance. Guests consistently commend the staff for being "exceptionally kind," "so friendly," "helpful," and providing "excellent service." A 24-hour front desk ensures that guest needs are promptly addressed, contributing to a welcoming and well-taken-care-of feeling.

6. Location & Accessibility

PituRooms boasts a prime location in the heart of Salatiga, earning high ratings for its convenience (9.7-9.8). Situated near the city square, it offers easy access to local attractions such as Alun-Alun Pancasila, Tamansari Shopping Center, and Salatiga Citywalk Mall. The hotel is approximately 29 miles (46 km) from Adisumarmo International Airport. Its central position makes it an ideal base for exploring Salatiga and the surrounding Central Java region. A notable and unique feature is the cylindrical, one-person vacuum-powered elevator, providing a memorable journey between floors. Parking is available, though guests with cars may need to confirm details directly with the hotel due to the building's narrowness, sometimes requiring parking on the street or nearby alleys.

7. Value & Pricing

PituRooms is considered an excellent choice for travelers seeking a blend of comfort and affordability, offering "affordable luxury." With average room rates ranging from $51 to $75 (or approximately IDR 800,000 to IDR 1,100,000 per night), it provides an upscale experience that justifies its slightly higher price point compared to the city's average. Guests feel that every dollar spent translates into a memorable experience, making it a worthy investment for their stay in Salatiga.

8. Common Complaints

While generally highly rated, some minor points of criticism have been noted. One guest reported a bathroom leak or wetness. Another mentioned the unique single-person lift being under maintenance during their stay, which can detract from the "iconic" experience. Due to its slim design, the rooms are naturally compact, though this is often framed as part of its unique charm rather than a drawback. The hotel also has a policy of not accommodating extra beds or cribs.

Location is perfect. Top architect design. Coffee and food, strongly strongly recommended. It's a lost, if you don't try the coffee, food and its cake.

We actually visited this unique hotel a couple months ago. We just booked for a dinner in the resto on top floor. The resto is definitely quite small, only 9-12 person. The atmosphere is unforgettable. The visitor must use stairs to go up because the vacuum lift only for the hotel guest. This place is not disable and kid-friendly because limited spaces.

Pitu Rooms Hotel offers a truly unique experience as Indonesia's slimmest hotel! The concept is fascinating, and despite the compact size, the rooms are impressively clean and comfortable. The staff's service is top-notch—always friendly and attentive, which adds to the overall positive experience. While the price is slightly on the higher side, the novelty and quality make it worth it. If you're...

A Masterpiece of Space, Design, and Service I initially expected an overrated hotel, but I was completely wrong. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the hotel’s artistic and industrial design. Every inch of space is utilized efficiently, making the entire experience both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It’s a place that never feels dull—there’s always something to admire, from t...
