3. Room Quality

Penbontbren offers six luxurious, five-star standard suites, each meticulously converted from parts of an old Welsh farm such as a stable, threshing barn, mill, or granary, retaining traditional character while incorporating modern comforts. Each suite is spacious, luxuriously furnished, and designed for comfort. They feature a separate sitting room with a TV and good WiFi, a well-equipped kitchenette including a microwave and fridge, and a good-sized en-suite bathroom. Many suites also boast a private verandah or garden with views. Guests particularly praise the "huge superking bed" and the overall comfort. Individually decorated, rooms often include fireplaces and minibars, along with daily housekeeping and replenishment of amenities.

It serves as an excellent base for exploring the picturesque beaches, unspoilt towns, and stunning countryside of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Nearby attractions include Sculpture Heaven, Cilgerran Castle, and Cardigan Castle. The property offers ample free self-parking and two electric vehicle charging stations. 7. Value & Pricing

Guests generally perceive Penbontbren as offering good value for money, especially considering the high standard of accommodation and service. Special offers, such as "three nights for the price of two," are sometimes available. Additional charges apply for pets (£30 per dog per stay) and EV charging (50p per kilowatt hour).

8. Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, one minor recurring criticism noted by guests is that the WiFi can be "quite slow at times," though this is often acknowledged as an expected limitation given the rural location. The cancellation policy is strict, charging 90% of the bill for cancellations within 7 days, although the property endeavors to re-sell the room. Early departures also incur the full cost of the stay. Additionally, while dog-friendly, there is a policy against pets on furniture or beds, with charges for any damage caused.

Tucked away down a quiet lane away, peaceful and tranquil with lovely large gardens and an orchard to wonder about in. We stayed in the garden suite, which was lovely, every need was catered for, they even made our bed for us! Excellent breakfast, nothing lacking at all, the owners remembered our names each day at breakfast and even what we liked to drink! Quite remarkable. Would highly recommend.

We wish we could have stayed ...
