If you are sensitive to noise when sleeping, consider staying in one of the rooms that is not a part of the main hotel. While the room was spacious with a soaking tub, we had to sleep with noise cancelling earbuds and earplugs every night of the stay. They keep the music in the sitting areas on all night our room was directly above a main sitting area as well as directly facing the pool area outsi...

Beautiful hotel with unique charm! Every staff member we interacted with was beyond pleasant. The heated pool, sauna, and live jazz made for the most relaxing evening. Our room was spacious and had many windows. Our room smelled musty, but this is kind of expected with an old building.

Upon checking in, we noticed an odd stain on our comforter. We removed it and simply asked for another blanket or comforter. We were given a small bed pad to use as a blanket on a king size bed. We later found that this too was stained. When I complained, I was offered a complimentary breakfast in the cafe, which may have been fine...but we already ate. They told me at the desk that I would be cre...

The Grinch holiday bar was a very underwhelming experience. Leading up to the entrance, there were decorations and I thought, “Cute, fun, yes.” However, once we walked in, it was surprisingly quiet. We were greeted by someone and briefly wondered if there was a hidden entrance, speakeasy-style, because of how subdued it felt, but they simply pointed us toward the bar. The cocktail we ordered tast...

This place rubbed me wrong. It tries too hard and misses the mark by a mile. Upon arrival, I was overcharged for a weak, un-iced drink that was literally one sip, and that kind of set the tone for my stay. The room was freezing and they do not allow guests to manage the temperature, which made it feel cheap and overpriced. I kept feeling like it could have been so much nicer with a little effort, ...

This is a quiet oasis in a now-bustling, formerly sleepy town. As close to the University as one could get. Friendly staff, capable bartender, live jazz, excellent cafe. Sure, it's quirky, and that is part of the charm. Kudos to staff and management who quickly and fairly resolved an issue with the room.
