Hotel La Bisaccia in Baja Sardinia, Italy, a Michelin Key Selected property, generally garners highly positive reviews, celebrated for its stunning location, attentive service, and traditional Sardinian charm.
Overall Rating & Sentiment
Hotel La Bisaccia is consistently rated as "very good" to "fabulous" by guests, with scores often ranging from 8.5 to 9.6. The overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests describing their stay as wonderful and unforgettable, especially for those seeking an authentic Italian island experience.
Key Highlights
Guests frequently praise the hotel's exceptional location with magnificent sea views, its direct access to a private beach and a large saltwater swimming pool. The traditional Sardinian design and charming, cozy atmosphere are also highly appreciated. The attentive and friendly staff, along with excellent food, are recurring highlights. The property is nestled within 124 acres of parkland, offering a sense of freedom and beautiful surroundings.
Room Quality
Hotel La Bisaccia offers a diverse selection of bright rooms and junior suites, available in both the main building and a separate residence. Rooms are often described as modern and beautifully furnished, reflecting a classic Sardinian architectural style with a predominant use of white, complemented by blue and light blue hues evoking the sea and sky. Amenities include satellite TV, a minibar, and air conditioning in every room type. Many rooms boast balconies with stunning sea views. However, some guests have noted that rooms in the separate residence building can be quite a distance from the main facilities, and some rooms may not receive much sun.
Dining Experience
The dining experience at Hotel La Bisaccia is highly rated, with guests commending the "excellent food" and "delicious delicacies of local cuisine". The on-site restaurant provides panoramic sea views, enhancing the meal. Breakfast is generally considered good, offering a variety of choices, though some guests have described it as "standard" and mentioned that hot food, such as scrambled eggs and bacon, can sometimes be cold. Room service is available for those who prefer to dine in their accommodations. The hotel also features a bar and a piano bar.
Service & Staff
The service and staff receive consistent accolades, being described as "very attentive," "polite," "professional," "extremely helpful," and "friendly". Location & Accessibility
Hotel La Bisaccia boasts a superb location overlooking the bay of Baja Sardinia, offering direct access to a private beach and a short walk to the resort center with its shops and restaurants. It's an ideal spot for those who love spending time by the sea, with intimate bathing coves nearby. For those seeking more vibrancy, the glamorous Costa Smeralda is just 5 miles away. However, due to the hotel's layout with many steps and its size, it may not be suitable for guests with limited or restricted mobility. There are no lifts available in the annexe block.
Value & Pricing
The hotel scores 7.8 for value for money among guests. While prices can start from around €400 or $289, guests generally find the overall experience, given the facilities, service, and prime location, to be worthwhile. It's worth noting that access to sunbeds in the first two rows on the beach incurs an additional daily charge.
Common Complaints
While largely positive, some recurring criticisms include issues with accessibility for guests with mobility challenges due to the numerous steps and the lack of lifts in certain areas. There have been occasional mentions of the cooked breakfast items being cold. Some guests have also reported issues with air conditioning not effectively cooling rooms and discrepancies in mini-bar billing. One guest specifically warned against booking rooms in the "residence building" as it can be far from the main hotel. An isolated complaint mentioned being misled by online pictures and difficulties with refunds.

Mixed feelings. The hotel’s location is its greatest strength as its right on a beautiful beach with free parking and easy access by car to nearby villages and other beaches. The pool area also has stunning views, and breakfast was decent. A few staff members, like Emmanuel and the gentleman in the white dinner jacket at breakfast, made the experience warmer and more personal. That said, the pro...

Amazing location, great view and beautiful property. Breakfast was a hit. Parking very easy. Rooms haven’t been updated since 19-tickety two, beds were an afterthought, rooms a good size. Thumping music coming from nearby restaurants, bars made getting to sleep before 1 am a challenge. Realize that’s not the hotels responsibility but don’t forget your earplugs if you stay here. Capeesh?

Wonderful hotel. Absolutely gorgeous views, room and sunsets. We stayed in a Nelson suite (room 7) with sea views across to other parts of the island and to La maddalena archipelago. We had our evening meals included which was 4 courses, 4 choices for each course that changed every night. Food was delicious, well presented and the staff a perfect balance of attentive and allowing space. Thank you ...

Hotel location is perfect. It is just near the beautiful beach and it is easy to go to other beaches in this area from here. Breakfast was very good as well. On the other side, it is extremely expensive for what it offers. Rooms are outdated and the facility as well. Also, if you decide to eat dinner at the hotel keep in mind portions are very small and prices are huge. Some of the staff members w...

This is nicely located hotel, close to all the major beaches in Costa Smeralda. Parking is secured which was convenient. It is very expensive, as rooms do not offer what should be offering for that price. Staff is generally polite and welcoming, but some team members still need to educate themselves on more polite approach. Hotel is kept clean.
