3. Room Quality
Rooms at Hotel Albatroz are individually themed and decorated, blending traditional old-world elegance with modern comfort. Many rooms offer superb sea views, balconies, or overlook picturesque Cascais or the hotel gardens and pools. While some guests find the decor charming with floral prints, soft blues and greens, and antique furniture, others have noted it can feel "old-fashioned" or "dated." This hotel is truly exceptional. Our room had a stunning ocean view — an absolute must-have in Cascais. We visited off-season, so almost no one was using the pool, and the atmosphere was wonderfully quiet. We slept every night with the window open, listening to the sound of the waves — an unforgettable experience. Breakfasts were good; for a five-star hotel, they could have been a bit more varied,...

Spectacular view, wonderful staff, lovely room. Classic older property and very historical style. Excellent breakfast buffet. The bed sheets and beds are very comfortable. Parking (valet) is free. Well located in the town. Pool unheated like most in Spain and Portugal we’ve encountered. Delightful!

Not much more to add that is not consistent with the other reviews posted. I will go with a THANK YOU to the entire staff at the Albatroz. Truly a gem, and the people definitely make it such...so kind and friendly. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and the hotel staff treated us 1st class with an amazing room and service. 10 + service, and yes, doesn't help that the views are out of t...

If you’re in Cascais and craving a stunning lunch by the water, Hotel Albatroz is the spot. We started on the Esplanade with the couvert—warm breads, butter, and olives—that set the tone perfectly. We shared a pitcher of sangria, which was both refreshing and dangerously easy to keep sipping. My husband went for the Royal Hamburger, and let’s just say it fully lived up to its name: decadent, jui...

A comfortable hotel in an excellent location with stunning views. The staff were friendly and polite. The breakfast buffet was ok but I’ve had better. The bathroom in the basic double needs a serious rethink. A small old bath with a fixed panel against a sloping roof makes for a tiny and very awkward showering space. The water temperature control isn’t great. Check the wine list when ordering ...

Extremely comfortable bed and a lovely room with an ocean view. Breakfast was outstanding — the best scrambled eggs and grilled tomatoes I’ve ever tasted. Excellent location!
