2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently rave about several standout features. The world-class spa is a major draw, boasting expansive facilities across three floors, including indoor pools (one with underwater music), multiple saunas, steam rooms, a hammam, infrared beds, a yoga studio, and outdoor hot tubs with breathtaking mountain views. The Michelin-starred Anna Stuben restaurant is another highlight, celebrated for its exceptional cuisine and ambiance. The attentive and personalized service from a dedicated staff, often with long tenure, receives frequent accolades. Furthermore, the hotel's prime location in Ortisei, offering stunning Dolomites views and excellent accessibility to ski lifts and hiking trails, is a key selling point. The elegant yet cozy "chalet-but-updated" design and pristine common areas also contribute to the luxurious feel.
3. Room Quality
Rooms at Gardena Grödnerhof are consistently described as spacious, well-appointed, and renovated. They feature a tasteful classic mountain style with neutral colors, ample wood, and are finished to a high standard. Guests appreciate the comfort, and many rooms and suites offer balconies with gorgeous panoramic views of Ortisei and the surrounding Dolomites. Modern comforts are integrated seamlessly, including heated floors in bathrooms. Some suites are particularly large, with separate living areas and features like Tyrolean stoves.
4. Dining Experience
The hotel offers an exceptional culinary journey. The Michelin-starred Anna Stuben restaurant is highly recommended for its exquisite food, exceptional wine list, and flawless service in an intimate setting. The main Gardena restaurant provides varied lunch and dinner menus, including vegetarian options, and the food is generally considered very good. Breakfast is consistently lauded as "incredible," "over the top," and an "extensive buffet spread" with additional à la carte options. Many guests find the half-board dinner to be of "good value". The bar also offers inventive cocktails with local ingredients.
5. Service & Staff
The service at Gardena Grödnerhof is a hallmark of the guest experience, frequently described as "top-tier," "outstanding," and "pure perfection". Staff members are noted for being "extremely helpful," "friendly," "professional," "welcoming," and genuinely warm in their interactions. 6. Location & Accessibility

This central position provides convenient access to the region's main attractions and ski lifts, making it an ideal base for both winter sports and summer hiking and biking. The hotel offers a ski room and a shuttle service to gondolas and other points in town, making exploration effortless. The Dolomites themselves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering spectacular views and outdoor activities.
7. Value & Pricing

However, many guests affirm that the exceptional quality of facilities, service, and overall experience makes it "worth the cost". The half-board option for dining is often highlighted as offering good value.
8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, a recurring point of feedback is the absence of air conditioning in the rooms. This can lead to rooms feeling uncomfortably warm, particularly during August, although guests note that fans are often provided and temperatures do cool down at night. One minor structural criticism mentioned was a small shower partition in some rooms that could result in a wet bathroom floor. Some guests also felt that the main Gardena restaurant, while serving good food, sometimes "lacks atmosphere" compared to the intimate setting of Anna Stuben.

This beautiful and well appointed hotel has been family run for 4 generations. When we checked in, we were greeted by Anna Steuben who is the namesake for her great grandmother who is the founder. She is pictured here. We also met one of her sisters and her cousin who also works there. We stayed in a beautiful two bedroom which also had air conditioning since visiting in August. It was quite warm...

Just WOW- from start to finish, an epic hotel experience. The room was over the top outstanding with every amenity and comfort possible (a pillow menu!!!). Every staff member we encountered was kind, helpful, and amazingly responsive. The breakfast buffet was unmatched, as was the spa. If you choose to stay here, you are in for the treat of a lifetime!!!
