Expert Review: Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá
The Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá has earned a reputation for providing a luxurious and comfortable stay in Colombia's vibrant capital, often described as a "wonderful" property by guests. Its selection as a Michelin Key property further underscores its commitment to exceptional hospitality.
1. Overall Rating & Sentiment
The general sentiment for Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently using words like "excellent," "beautiful property," and "unforgettable" to describe their stays. It consistently receives high ratings for its location, cleanliness, comfort, and staff performance.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently praise several aspects of the Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá:
- Service & Staff: The staff is frequently highlighted as exceptional, attentive, and going "above and beyond" to ensure a perfect stay.
- Location: Its prime location in the Zona T (also known as Zona Rosa) is a major draw, offering easy access to upscale shopping, dining, nightlife, and a safe environment for walking.
- Design & Ambiance: The hotel, housed in century-old brick buildings, offers a contemporary yet sober and soothing design aesthetic, utilizing natural fibers, warm wood, and neutral tones. The intimate setting and modern elegance are appreciated.
- Amenities: Free WiFi, pet-friendly accommodations, a private bar in rooms, twice-daily housekeeping, 24-hour in-room dining, a 24-hour front desk with multilingual concierge, and a spa with upscale treatments are all noted amenities. A fitness center is also available 24 hours a day.
3. Room Quality
The rooms at Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá are described as comfortable, spacious, and clean, featuring a minimalist yet elegant design.
- Each room is air-conditioned and includes a custom Four Seasons bed, original art, marble bathrooms, and custom-tinted wooden floors.
- For comfort, bathrobes, plush slippers, and L'Loto del Sur toiletries are provided. The L'Loto del Sur products are particularly loved by some guests.
- Rooms are generally well-appointed, though some guests have noted that the bathrooms, while marble, can feel a bit "strange and clunky" and somewhat dated for a hotel of its caliber, despite the property being relatively new.
- Some rooms offer city views. Soundproofed windows help mitigate noise from the bustling Zona T.
4. Dining Experience
The primary dining venue mentioned is La Biblioteca, a modern lounge that offers all-day dining and serves as the breakfast area.
- Breakfast, while often not included in the room rate, is consistently praised as "excellent" and "very good," featuring a buffet with customized Colombian coffee.
- The hotel also offers 24-hour in-room dining service.
- While there was previously another restaurant, Nemo by Harry Sasson, it appears to have been closed. This leaves fewer on-site dining options beyond breakfast and the lounge, though the Zona T location provides numerous external choices.
5. Service & Staff
Hospitality at the Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá is a significant highlight. Guests consistently report fantastic and personalized attention from the staff, including the front desk, bellmen, and spa personnel. The multilingual concierge team is also a valuable asset. Instances of staff going "beyond expectations" are frequently cited. However, one guest did report an "argumentative" front desk agent regarding a credit card mischarge, suggesting that while generally excellent, there can be occasional inconsistencies.
6. Location & Accessibility
The hotel boasts an excellent and safe location in Bogotá's upscale Zona T (also known as Zona Rosa) neighborhood.
- It is just steps away from the city's best shopping, nightlife, cafes, bars, and restaurants.
- Andino and El Retiro Shopping Centers are only 1640 feet (approximately 500 meters) away.
- Walking around the area is considered safe.
- The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Virrey Park.
- El Dorado International Airport is approximately 6.2 miles (10 km) away, with travel times around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
- While generally in a less traffic-prone area, the street the hotel is on can be pedestrian-only, which might require a short walk with luggage unless transport is arranged directly with the hotel.
7. Value & Pricing
The Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá is a luxury property, and its pricing reflects that. Nightly rates can start from around $385.0, though prices are subject to change and can fluctuate significantly based on season, with May being a more expensive month and July potentially offering lower rates. While some guests note that for a hotel that routinely charges over $400 a night, the facilities might feel limited compared to other Four Seasons properties, the overall consensus for value for money is still rated as "wonderful" (8.5 out of 10 on one platform). The brand's reputation for luxury and service, coupled with the prime location, contributes to its perceived worth.
8. Common Complaints
While generally highly regarded, some recurring criticisms or issues include:
- Dated Bathrooms: Some guests find the design and setup of the marble bathrooms to feel "strange and clunky" and somewhat dated for a newer luxury hotel.
- Noise from HVAC: The HVAC unit in some rooms has been noted as "pretty noisy."
- Limited Common Areas/Facilities: Compared to some larger Four Seasons properties, the hotel, with its 64 rooms spread across three adjoined low-rise buildings, can feel "small scale" and lacking in extensive common areas or a wider variety of dining venues beyond La Biblioteca. This can lead to a feeling of "underwhelm" for some who expect more grand facilities from the brand.
- Breakfast Not Included: Breakfast is often not included in the standard room rate, which is a point of mention for some guests.
- Inconsistent Service (Rare): While service is predominantly exceptional, a rare instance of an "argumentative" front desk agent was reported by one guest.

recently stayed at Four Seasons Hotel Bogotá, and even though it’s the smallest Four Seasons I’ve stayed at anywhere in the world, it was absolutely charming. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredible. The airport pickup was seamless, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed right away. That level of attention sets the tone for the entire stay — and they maintained it throughout...

Simply an exceptional hotel. The service definitely up to Four Seasons expectations . One of if not the best service I have received at a hotel. All the staff. Definitely will choose again for all my stays in Bogotá..

If I could give more than 5 Stars, I absolutely would. I expected it to be good but every single member of their staff was on point. I’m a big fan of this hotel and I plan to stay there again

Wow, just wow 🤩✨ Four Seasons Bogotá is next-level—gorgeous rooms, insanely comfy beds, legendary staff, stunning rooftop views, heavenly spa, and amazing food. You’ll wish you could stay forever. 💛

Its not the standard Four seasons level of hotel resort. Rooms dont have hot tubs nor the feel and look of a four seasons. The spa is just a basic steam room no hot sauna or jet hot tub, very small. Wouldn't recommend as a resort. Food is good but not much to offer. No bar just a small restaurant. Basic

Four Seasons Bogotá (Zona T) is in the perfect location, right in a lively neighborhood full of restaurants, shops, and nightlife. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived, check-in and check-out were smooth. The restaurant team really stood out. Having breakfast there was such a pleasure, when it felt a little chilly, they thoughtfully brought me a blanket, which made the experience ...
