2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently rave about several standout features:
- Location & Views: The panoramic location offers stunning, breathtaking views of Lake Como from almost every vantage point, including rooms, the infinity pool, and the restaurant.
- Design & Ambiance: Housed in a cleverly recycled former wire factory, the hotel boasts an industrial-chic style with cool stone and glass, allowing abundant natural light. The design is described as modern, elegant, and minimalist, yet luxurious.
- Amenities: The infinity pool overlooking the lake, a private beach with lounge chairs, and complimentary kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are frequently highlighted. There's also a beachfront bar and a gym.
- Service: The staff consistently receives accolades for being warm, accommodating, attentive, genuinely caring, kind, and helpful.
3. Room Quality
The rooms and residences at Filario are described as spacious, well-equipped, modern, elegant, and spotlessly clean. They feature natural wood paneling, white linens, slate bathrooms, and, crucially, a private terrace or balcony facing Lake Como. Apartments and houses also include a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Guests particularly appreciate the comfortable beds.
4. Dining Experience
Ristorante Filo, the hotel's more formal restaurant, offers an outstanding culinary experience with creative dishes prepared using the best ingredients and flawless service. Located on a lake-facing veranda, the restaurant provides an authentic gastronomic journey with a menu blending seasonal ingredients, regional tastes, and Mediterranean cuisine. Guests can choose from à la carte options or tasting menus, including "Freestyle," "Classics," and "Vegetarian." A sweet Italian breakfast is also available to start the day. There is also a beachfront bar and bistro for more casual dining.

They are described as warm, accommodating, attentive, genuinely caring, kind, welcoming, and very helpful. Specific mentions often include individual staff members who contribute to a flawless and unforgettable stay.
6. Location & Accessibility
Filario Hotel & Residences boasts a panoramic location in Lezzeno, directly on Lake Como, offering incredible views. While Lezzeno itself provides a quieter experience compared to more bustling towns, Bellagio is just a quick boat ride away, and the hotel offers a watertaxi service on request. For exploring other areas, guests might need to rely on a bus or water taxi, or have a rental car. The property is near a port and a bus stop. Milan is about an hour's drive away, and Milan Malpensa Airport is approximately 50 miles distant.
7. Value & Pricing
Filario Hotel & Residences is considered a luxury property, and its pricing reflects this. The average room price is around $757, which is significantly higher than the average price for a hotel room in Lezzeno ($344). However, many guests feel it offers unparalleled value for money, considering the prime location, impeccable service, and world-class facilities, deeming it "worth every penny." Prices can fluctuate, with low season (April) seeing averages around $209-$303 per night, and high season (August) being the most expensive. Weekend nights tend to be more expensive than weeknights.
8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, a recurring point mentioned by some guests, though not a "complaint" in the negative sense, is the need to use local transport (bus or water taxi) or a rental car to easily access and explore other popular towns like Bellagio from the quieter Lezzeno location. This is more a logistical consideration than a criticism of the hotel itself.

This hotel is set in a very spectacular location right on the lake. There is markets within a kilometer in each direction but the hours for those markets vary so be careful. Also the walk there is on a very narrow road with very fast drivers. As for the hotel, the room was spectacular from one of their apartments. The one thing that would make this a five-star hotel is giving you robes to go with ...

Highly recommend Filario Hotel if you're looking for a memorable, peaceful, and authentic Lake Como experience with very few tourists around. Lezzeno is a lovely and quiet small town that is only 15 minutes bus ride from Bellagio. We were generously upgraded to the Junior Suite: a huge room with a private patio, cabana, and pool and priceless view of the lake. The room itself is very modern, clea...

We absolutely loved our stay at the Filario! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side that week—unusually stormy for September—which impacted much of the lakeside area. Despite the torrential rains, Camilla and the team went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and still able to enjoy our trip. They kept us updated on ferry schedules and arranged alternative rides when needed, wh...

We recently stayed at Filario Hotel and loved its beautiful design and perfect location. However, several issues affected our experience, especially given the high nightly rate: Flying insects in the room, which was unpleasant and unexpected at this level. Insufficient lighting for basic tasks like applying makeup. The bathroom ventilation system was not working, so it couldn’t remove moisture ...

Filario Circus (Cold and Clumsy) I have been here in May 2025 with my wife, in our honeymoon. The views from the hotel are the only beautiful and "luxurios" things around, since the hotel itself was a big disappointment, based on the price paid. From the very first moment we arrived, things started to go bad. The luggage boy asked me continuously to take my bags, so I accepted, since I know this...

Stayed two nights in the residences. Except for the view, everything else is not worth the value for money you get. - Design hotel? There is no design in the residences. Furniture is very cheap. - Breakfast personnel: some were rude and didn’t want to fill the buffet 30 min before breakfast ends additional 8 euros for eggswould not be a problem when you pay for an old, furnished, dirty apartment...
