This strong positive feedback reflects the successful blend of the estate's rich history with modern comforts and dedicated service.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently laud Dimora Ghirlandaio for several key aspects. Its historical significance as a 14th-century estate, once home to Renaissance painters and frequented by artists like Michelangelo, is a major draw. The meticulous restoration by the Cecchi family, who have owned the hamlet since 2010, is celebrated for seamlessly integrating the charm of the past with contemporary amenities. Other highlights include the breathtaking setting amidst olive groves and quiet gardens, the inviting infinity swimming pool, a refined spa, and access to personalized catering and an organic vegetable patch. The property's production of high-quality olive oil is also a unique feature.
3. Room Quality
The accommodations, spanning across several private villas and suites, are consistently described as spacious and comfortable. Each space beautifully retains its historical character while offering up-to-date comforts, featuring details such as stone fireplaces and elegant coffered ceilings. The estate offers a range of options, from one-bedroom suites to five-bedroom villas, providing a bespoke experience for different group sizes. One specific feedback, however, notes limited storage options in some rooms.
4. Dining Experience
The dining experience at Dimora Ghirlandaio is a significant highlight. The on-site restaurant, set in the estate's old barn and reserved exclusively for guests, offers traditional Tuscan fare with a contemporary touch. Dishes are crafted using seasonal ingredients from local producers and vegetables and aromatic herbs from the property's own garden. The estate's organic, internationally awarded extra virgin olive oil further enriches many recipes. Breakfast is comprehensive, including American, buffet, and Italian options. Guests frequently praise the "amazing food," describing it as fresh, homemade, and of excellent culinary standard. Personalized catering services are also available.
5. Service & Staff
The service and staff at Dimora Ghirlandaio receive "high praise" for their friendliness, professionalism, warmth, and hospitality. The overall service quality is consistently described as "outstanding," with guests feeling exceptionally well taken care of throughout their stay. Specific mentions include a 24-hour front desk and comprehensive concierge services to ensure every detail is executed flawlessly. One guest specifically highlighted "Linda's helpfulness" during their stay. The General Manager emphasizes delivering an extraordinary Florentine experience, noting that guests often express feeling at home and even prefer spending more time on the property.
6. Location & Accessibility
Dimora Ghirlandaio is ideally situated in the rolling hills of Tuscany, between Impruneta and Scandicci, just south of Florence. This prime location offers stunning panoramic views, including Brunelleschi's Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Chianti hills, and vineyards. Florence is less than a half-hour's drive away, and popular Tuscan towns like Siena, San Casciano, Colle Val d'Elsa, and Monteriggioni are also within easy reach. The estate serves as a perfect base for exploring the region and provides numerous on-site and nearby activities such as golf, horse riding, cooking and painting classes, and even helicopter or hot air balloon tours.
7. Value & Pricing
Dimora Ghirlandaio is positioned as a luxury property, reflected in its pricing. Stays are typically offered for entire villas, with prices ranging significantly depending on the size and duration. For example, some villas with 11 bedrooms are priced from EUR 36,400 per week, while larger options can range from EUR 91,000 to EUR 119,000 per week, with prices often available upon request and confirmed by customer service. We stayed recently with a large wedding party and had a wonderful time. This place is like a dream with gorgeous expansive grounds you can walk through and the concierge can and will arrange anything you need to include on site massages in a private room. The rooms were undersized and lack of storage for suitcases and luggage was a pain (maybe raise the beds so open suitcases can slide under the...

We didn't stay here, but dropped by to use the Tesla charger (arrive at the entrance gate, enter, turn hard hard left to slot the 2x chargers in the left corner). We came across a variety of staff who were polite and professional. Grounds are maintained beautifully and we sat by the pool to spend a wonderful 40min or so while the Telsa charged. Additionally, the views from here are gorgeous!
