1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The overall sentiment for Copperhill Mountain Lodge is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests describing their stays as excellent and highly satisfying. It consistently receives high ratings, with visitors frequently praising it as one of Åre's finest hotels and a standout destination. The hotel's unique design and luxurious ambiance contribute significantly to its excellent reputation.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently love Copperhill Mountain Lodge for its superb ski-in/ski-out location on top of Förberget Mountain, offering direct access to the slopes and breathtaking panoramic views over Åreskutan. The impressive architecture and design, crafted by Peter Bohlin (known for Apple retail stores), blends modernist style with rustic elements like wood, stone, furs, and textiles, creating a stimulating and comfortable environment.

The award-winning spa is another major highlight, featuring indoor and outdoor swimming pools, hot springs, and saunas, all with magnificent mountain views. The hotel also offers family-friendly amenities such as game rooms, PlayStation consoles, and dedicated kids' buffets, making it a popular choice for families. Exceptional service and delicious food are also frequently cited as key strengths.

3. Room Quality

The 112 rooms and suites at Copperhill Mountain Lodge are described as spacious, comfortable, and beautifully presented. They feature modern designs with warm color schemes and thoughtful amenities to ensure top-notch comfort. Standard room features include heated bathroom floors, 40-inch widescreen LCD TVs, free in-room WiFi, bathrobes, safes, and coffee/tea makers. Some suites also come with kitchenettes, providing extra convenience. While beds are generally comfortable, some guests have noted them to be a bit firm.

4. Dining Experience

The dining experience at Copperhill Mountain Lodge is highly praised. The on-site restaurant, Niesti, celebrates Sami food culture and the riches of the mountains, offering traditional Nordic cuisine combined with modern gastronomy. Dishes are crafted with passion using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, with menus like "Mountain," "Coast," and "Mountain Pasture" rotating to offer new experiences.

The lavish breakfast buffet is a particular highlight, described as nutritious and organic, featuring freshly baked bread, scrambled eggs, a wide selection of cold cuts, homemade jams, fresh fruit, juices, and specialty coffees. The Fireside Lobby & Bar provides a cozy atmosphere with its 34-meter high ceilings and serves lunch, coffee, and a range of classic and innovative cocktails, perfect for après-ski mingling. There's also an in-house bakery offering delicious pastries baked from scratch daily.

In summer, guests can enjoy hiking and biking trails directly outside the property. The hotel is also wheelchair accessible, with features like accessible parking and registration.

7. Value & Pricing

While Copperhill Mountain Lodge is considered a luxury property and not inexpensive, many guests believe it offers good value for the comprehensive experience it provides. Rates typically start from around 1495 SEK per night. Average prices seen recently show approximately $267 for a weeknight and $432 for a weekend night. December is noted as the most expensive month to stay, with August being the cheapest.

8. Common Complaints

Despite overwhelmingly positive feedback, some recurring criticisms have been noted. A common complaint relates to room temperature, with several guests finding their rooms to be too warm, especially during warmer periods, and noting the lack of air conditioning. Another point of contention is the check-out time of 10:00 AM, which some guests consider too early. Furthermore, a few reviews mention that children are not permitted in the main pool area after 5:00 PM. One guest also expressed disappointment with the coffee selection at breakfast, wishing for espresso machines instead of only filter coffee.

I spent a night at copperhill hotel with my work and the hotel itself is very impressive. The architecture is amazing and cosy at the same time. Like a cabin but in huge. What was very sad was that all my colleagues got really nice rooms whereas I got a room on the ground floor, directly to the road outside. The room was not prepared, no towels, no toilet paper, dust. When I asked about this, some...

Had an incredible time. Restaurant was great. Wine selection excellent. Room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable. Spa and massages were incredible. Ellen at the front desk gave awesome recommendations. Alex made some great drinks and took care of us at dinner. Emilie gave an amazing massage. We can’t wait to go back in the winter to ski!

What a gem. I can definitely recommend. Out of the tourist path, in a quiet are with a nature trail right out the door. Own ski lift in the winter, connects to slopes in Åre. While not inexpensive, Copperhill can compete in the value department, because you get a lot for your buck. Modern and very clean, with awsome staff. 5 🤩
