Convent de La Missió, Grand Luxury Boutique Hotel, Mallorca, Spain, a Michelin Key One-Key property, consistently receives high praise for its blend of historic charm and modern luxury. Housed in a meticulously restored 17th-century convent, this adults-only hotel offers a serene and sophisticated retreat in the heart of Palma's Old Town.
Overall Rating & Sentiment
The general consensus for Convent de La Missió is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing it as "exceptional" and even akin to a "seven-star boutique luxury hotel." It boasts high ratings for cleanliness (9.6), comfort (9.7), and staff (9.7), creating a tranquil and luxurious experience for discerning travelers.
Key Highlights
Guests consistently laud the hotel's exceptional service, the authentic yet modern design of the restored convent, and its prime location. The Michelin-starred restaurant, Marc Fosh, and the outstanding breakfast are frequently mentioned as significant draws. The peaceful, calm atmosphere despite its central location is also a key highlight. Additional amenities like the rooftop terrace with an outdoor pool, and a spa area with a sauna, indoor pool, and relaxation room contribute to its appeal. The hotel's Art Bar, which doubles as an art gallery, is also a unique feature.
Room Quality
The 27 rooms and suites are described as very comfortable, spacious, and equipped with ample storage. They feature bright, pure colors, warm parquet floors, and ultra-modern bathrooms. Guests appreciate the minimalist yet cozy design, often highlighting the incredibly comfy and spacious beds. Some rooms and suites offer desirable features such as private terraces, standalone bathtubs with hydromassage capabilities, or even a Turkish bath in the Luxury Suite. Standard amenities include air conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, minibar, safe, and L'Occitane bath products.
Dining Experience
The dining experience at Convent de La Missió is a major draw, primarily due to its Michelin-starred Marc Fosh restaurant. The restaurant offers refined modern Mediterranean cuisine with bold, clean flavors, emphasizing fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, available through tasting menus. The breakfast is consistently rated as superb, outstanding, delicious, fresh, and varied, often including freshly baked breads, local cheeses, meats, seasonal fruits, à la carte hot options, and even free-flow prosecco. Room service is also available from Marc Fosh.
Service & Staff
The service and staff are frequently highlighted as exceptional. Guests commend their attentiveness, kindness, and genuine helpfulness. The Front Office Manager, Mr. Joan Segui, is specifically mentioned for his unique welcome and authentic generosity.
Location & Accessibility
The hotel boasts an excellent central location in Palma's historic Old Town, situated on a quiet side street yet within easy walking distance of numerous attractions, shops, restaurants, and the cathedral. While exploring the narrow, sometimes hilly, streets of the old town, the hotel provides a tranquil oasis. The beach is approximately 3 km away, and the airport is about 9 km, roughly a 15-minute drive. Public transport options are also within reasonable walking distance.
Value & Pricing
While considered a luxury property, guests generally agree that Convent de La Missió offers good value for money, with many stating it's "worth the cost" and "you get what you pay for." Although suites are noted as "not cheap," they are often deemed "definitely worth it." The inclusion of the superb breakfast in the room rate is also seen as a positive aspect of its value.
Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, some minor criticisms have been noted. One guest mentioned a room with "quirky with impractical artistic touches" and experienced a lack of air conditioning and a "shortage of staff". Another review, potentially outdated, mentioned the hotel lacking a small outdoor pool, which contradicts multiple other sources highlighting the rooftop outdoor pool. A different guest found the pool terrace "a bit tired". Additionally, the atmosphere in the Marc Fosh restaurant was described by one reviewer as potentially "a bit warmer". The restaurant's popularity means booking ahead is strongly recommended.

Great location and staff. It is too bad that the uber could not drop us infront of the hotel. Only taxis are allowed to do this. The spa is small. But you book it just for you, which makes it special. Roof pool and sun deck are very cozy and relaxing.

Second stay at the hotel in August for 5 days. Luxurious and effortlessly cool place to stay. Without doubt the number 1 breakfast offering of any 5* hotel I have been to. So much choice with local delicacies and al a carte on top. Plus I will never forget when chatting with the hotel manager on arrival that if there was something we wanted that wasn’t on the menu he would ask chef to find it ...

Our stay here was magical! The room was gorgeous and quiet and all the Palma destinations we were excited about were a short walk away. But the true highlight was the staff; truly exceptional service all the way through. Edgar, Federico, and Veselka made our stay above and beyond. Highly recommend.

The hotel is tucked away in Palma's old town. We spent a long weekend here (6th to 11th November) and didn't notice any of the tourist hustle and bustle during our stay. Everything was just right: very friendly staff who were always available, perfect housekeeping, very nice rooms with an appealing architectural ambience.

We had a fantastic time here on our honeymoon for 8 nights in a standard room. The concierge service was the best part - for Joan nothing was too much trouble. He provided brilliant recommendations for things to do, he helped with booking beach clubs, taxis, dry cleaning. We also thought the cleaning service was fantastic as they would come twice a day and leave it feeling very fresh. It is such a...

From the moment I booked, everything about this hotel was flawless. The team was incredibly responsive to my emails, sending me detailed suggestions and recommendations for my trip even before I arrived. When I landed in Palma early in the morning after a long flight, I reached the hotel around 7 am, exhausted. Joan went above and beyond to arrange an early check-in so I could rest right away. Th...
