Room Quality
Château Richeux offers 11 elegantly appointed rooms and 2 luxurious apartments, each thoughtfully designed to blend the villa's 1920s charm with contemporary comfort. Rooms are described as sumptuously appointed, large, and airy, featuring a voluptuous mix of modern and antique furnishings. The interiors reflect the estate's maritime heritage, with a refined simplicity that connects guests to the natural beauty of the surroundings. Each room is uniquely named after an exotic spice, adding a distinctive touch. Premium suites are particularly noted for their panoramic bay views. While generally luxurious and comfortable, it's worth noting that some rooms may not have a coffee machine or air conditioning, and not all rooms offer the most desired bay view, so guests should inquire about specific room outlooks.
Dining Experience
The dining experience at Château Richeux is a cornerstone of its appeal, primarily centered around its Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Coquillage. Led by Chef Hugo Roellinger, son of the legendary Olivier Roellinger, the cuisine is a modern expression of Breton gastronomy, honoring the family's renowned spice-driven legacy while celebrating local seafood and regional ingredients. Guests can expect options like a tasting menu or shared seafood platters, featuring fresh local ingredients and Roellinger's unique spice blends. Dinners often commence with an aperitif in the garden or library, setting a refined tone. While the restaurant itself is highly praised, the breakfast is noted by some as being expensive.

Location & Accessibility

A car is generally necessary for getting around, though it is possible to arrive on foot from Cancale along the "sentier des douaniers". Really beautiful... Modern luxe, i.e. not fancy but true country elegance. The restaurant and environs are truly sublime. Only fault is no Internet/WiFi. I get that the focus is on nature and getaway, but in this day and age this is a critical oversight.

We stayed at the hotel this month (September) for one night in room FENUGREC. The room was lovely, very clean and welcoming. The breakfast was great but with 32 Euros very pricy. However, we were disappointed with a few aspects, particularly regarding communication. Upon arrival, we received minimal information about our stay or the property; we were simply handed the keys and shown to our room....

350 Kilometres de route pour un souvenir - lieu admirable First, we have been to Chateaux Richeux in September 1994, later going onward to United Kingdom via Roscoff, and ferry boat. We had room "Girofle" looking to the sea, and Mont Saint Michel, and it was absolutely admirable. Hotel and rooms very well kept, everything smelling well (this is, indeed, a sign of the very good places, good smell)...

O, traveler of the soul, lend your ear to the salt-spray that whispers against the granite of Armorica. As I once wandered the desolate sands of Saint-Malo, seeking the infinite in the horizon, I have found a sanctuary where the spirit of Brittany breathes in every stone and every crest of the tide. The Majesty of Richeux There, perched like a sentinel of dreams upon the cliffs of Saint-Méloir-d...
