3. Room Quality
The rooms at Casa Mediterraneo, which are predominantly suites, are described as spacious, well-designed, comfortable, and well-appointed. Each of the six suites occupies an entire floor of a renovated manor home and offers views of the Sea of Crete through charmingly shuttered windows. The design thoughtfully blends traditional Kastellorizo aesthetics with a contemporary approach, featuring a palette of soft limestone tones, warm woods, and traditional bold island colors. Bathrooms are equipped with traditional ceramic tiles, antique marble hammam sinks, and sleek contemporary Italian fixtures. Some suites, like the Mare Suite, are 36m² and include walk-in showers and stained glass. In-room amenities typically include air-conditioning, a private bathroom, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machines, and Olive Era bath products.
4. Dining Experience
Breakfast is a significant highlight at Casa Mediterraneo. Guests consistently describe it as a "glorious" and "fabulous" feast of Eastern Mediterranean flavors. Served on a terrace with mesmerizing sea views, it features fresh, seasonally sourced, and often locally foraged ingredients. Offerings include freshly baked breads, olive oil, feta cheese, salads, fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt, honey, nuts, and juices, with options for continental, buffet, à la carte, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. While breakfast is the main meal served, dinner can be enjoyed in an authentically styled "plateia" reminiscent space, and the hotel occasionally hosts a chef's table and sunset aperitivos.
5. Service & Staff
The service and staff at Casa Mediterraneo receive widespread acclaim for their exceptional hospitality. Guests highlight the staff as "absolutely exceptional," "great," "friendly," "attentive," and "really helpful." They are noted for going "above and beyond" to ensure guests' comfort, even accommodating uncommunicated dietary restrictions. A hotel representative meets guests at the harbor to assist with luggage upon arrival. The overall experience is often compared to staying in a welcoming family summer home.
6. Location & Accessibility
Casa Mediterraneo is ideally situated on a hillside in Kastellorizo, offering stunning panoramic views of the harbor and unforgettable sunsets. The hotel is a short walk from Megisti Port and is conveniently located near local attractions such as the Cathedral of St. Constantine and St. Helen and the Archaeological Museum of Megisti. Kastellorizo itself is a small, charming island, easily explored on foot, making a car unnecessary. The island is accessible by ferry from Rhodes (approximately a three-hour journey) or a shorter 30-minute crossing from Kaş, Turkey. While the hotel's hillside setting means there are steep stone steps to the entrance, a drive-up entrance to one of the levels is available, which is a consideration for guests with reduced mobility.
7. Value & Pricing
While Casa Mediterraneo is acknowledged as "not the cheapest place to stay," it is consistently considered a worthwhile investment for a luxurious and unique experience on the island. The quality of the accommodations, service, and dining experience justifies the cost for guests seeking a high-end retreat. Children aged 4 to 13 can stay for an additional €50 per night, and a two-night minimum stay is typically required.
8. Common Complaints
Recurring criticisms are few but include:
- Accessibility: The hotel's hillside location involves steep stone steps, which can be challenging for guests with reduced mobility. This is a common characteristic of many Greek island properties.
- Storage Space: Some guests staying for longer durations noted that rooms could benefit from more drawers or hanging space for clothing, suggesting that prolonged stays might require guests to live out of their suitcases more often.
- Bathroom Lighting: One review mentioned that more light in the bathroom would be appreciated.

Hotel has a beautiful Mediterranean design and renovation, and one of the best views overlooking Kastellorizo harbour. Something unforgettable definitely is the team's hospitality - not to mention the gorgeous breakfast made by them! Walkable distance (5 mins) from the harbour so it is very easy getting around the island. Such a lovely stay overall.

Short comment is amazing. Beautiful Mediterranean Architecture and room interior design. Manager Julia is so friendly and Cath is the best chef in Island. From housekeeping to manager you can find unique and best hospitality. Peaceful and spectacular place. There is only one bed thing about Megiti which is war ship. You can see every where on Island.
