Expert Review: Caesars Gardens Hotel & Spa

Caesars Gardens Hotel & Spa, a Michelin Key Selected property in Rhodes, Greece, consistently garners exceptional reviews, painting a picture of a tranquil and luxurious adults-only retreat. Guests frequently praise its serene ambiance, impeccable service, and stylish design, making it a highly recommended destination for those seeking relaxation and a sophisticated escape.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

Caesars Gardens Hotel & Spa is overwhelmingly lauded as an "Exceptional" and "Wonderful" destination, with many guests describing their stay as "Absolute perfection". It's frequently cited as "one of the best Hotels in Rhodes" and praised for its "Luxurious, peaceful and very stylish" atmosphere. The general consensus highlights a deeply relaxing and enjoyable experience.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently adore several aspects of Caesars Gardens Hotel & Spa:

  • Service: The staff receives effusive praise for being "courteous, helpful and super friendly," "attentive and helpful," and providing "Incredible service" where they "couldn't do enough for you".
  • Location: Described as an "oasis of tranquillity", the hotel's quiet position on the edge of Lindos offers a peaceful escape, yet remains conveniently accessible to the town. It boasts beautiful views, often overlooking the Lindos Acropolis and the Aegean Sea.
  • Design: The hotel's aesthetic is consistently complimented as "beautiful," "chic," and "modern and thoughtfully put together". It features an "exquisite blend of traditional Greek architecture and contemporary design", with interiors that are "unmistakably Aegean in aspect, with a certain handmade roughness to the materials — driftwood, stone, and traditional crafts". The lush, well-maintained gardens are a significant part of its charm.
  • Amenities: As an adults-only property, it offers a serene environment. Highlights include two outdoor pools, a hot tub, and the tranquil Magnolia Spa offering aromatherapy and hot stone massages. Guests appreciate the free pool cabanas, loungers, and umbrellas. Other amenities include a hair salon, library, and 24-hour room service.

3. Room Quality

The rooms at Caesars Gardens are consistently described as "beautiful, so clean with huge comfy beds". Guests find them "spacious and the design is made for feeling at home and are very comfortable," often featuring "large rooms and amazing view". Each of the 23 elegant rooms, suites, and bungalows blends "rustic charm and contemporary design" with modern amenities such as air conditioning, flatscreen TVs (43" Smart TV), and Illy Espresso machines with tea-making facilities. Many rooms also offer private balconies or terraces, some suites and bungalows even boasting private pools. While most praise the comfort, a few guests have noted that the pillows can be quite hard. One isolated review mentioned "jaded" decor and TV issues in a bungalow, which appears to be an outlier against the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

4. Dining Experience

The hotel offers a delightful culinary journey with two restaurants, Tárate (traditional Mediterranean) and César (a rooftop meze bar by the pool). The dining experience is frequently described as "faultless," with "delicious" and "varied" breakfast options. Breakfast includes a buffet and made-to-order items like omelets. The cuisine emphasizes "farm-to-table Greek dishes," with ingredients sourced from the hotel's own farm. While the food and drinks are considered high quality, some guests found them "a bit pricy".

5. Service & Staff

The service at Caesars Gardens Hotel & Spa is a standout feature, receiving nearly universal acclaim. Staff members are consistently praised for being "friendly and helpful and extremely professional and curtious". Reviewers highlight their "attentive" and "super friendly" demeanor, noting that they "couldn't do enough for you" and offer "personalized attention throughout your stay". The multilingual staff further enhances the guest experience.

6. Location & Accessibility

Situated on the edge of the historic village of Lindos, the hotel provides a "quiet area" away from the main tourist hustle. It's conveniently located, just a "short comfortable and level walk" of approximately 10-20 minutes to Lindos town, the iconic Acropolis, and nearby beaches. The hotel is nestled amidst craggy rocks, lush gardens, and olive groves, offering a picturesque setting. While a bus stop is around 500m away, the airport (Rhodes International Airport, RHO) is approximately 53 km distant, with a chargeable airport shuttle service available.

7. Value & Pricing

Caesars Gardens Hotel & Spa is often cited for offering "exceptional value for money" and being "surprisingly affordable" given its luxurious amenities and high level of service. Typical room rates can start from around $205-$270. However, some guests have expressed concern over "pricy" food and drinks in the hotel's restaurants and bar, and a recurring criticism is the €2.50 charge for in-room coffee capsules, which some feel should be complimentary.

8. Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, some recurring criticisms include:

  • In-room coffee costs: The €2.50 charge per coffee capsule in the room is a frequent point of contention, with guests suggesting it should be free.
  • Pillow firmness: A few guests found the pillows to be too hard.
  • Wi-Fi stability: Some reviews mention that the Wi-Fi can be unstable, and mobile coverage in the area can be poor.
  • Food and drink pricing: While quality is high, the cost of food and drinks at the hotel's bar and restaurant is considered expensive by some, prompting them to seek cheaper options in Lindos town in the evenings.

We stayed at Caesars Gardens & Spa in Lindos for our honeymoon. On first impressions the hotel is absolutely stunning – beautifully decorated, stylish and very chic. The grounds are immaculate, the pool is large with plenty of comfortable Bali beds, and the non-heated outdoor jacuzzi is a lovely touch. The atmosphere is super chill and relaxing with tasteful background music (never too loud or “in...

Having seen all the reviews for Caesars Gardens, my wife and I had such high hopes staying here for our honeymoon. We had saved up for well over a year to stay somewhere beautiful, relaxing and quiet. Instead, we were kept awake at night by loud music from the bar of the neighbouring hotel, about 20 yards away from our room, until 2am. We weren’t offered to move rooms, received no apology and inst...
