It offers a quiet escape while remaining within a short driving distance to Chania's bustling center and close to attractions like Koum Kapi Beach and the Archaeological Museum of Chania.
- Design: The hotel's "industrial-chic" aesthetic, born from the thoughtful renovation of former tanneries, is a major draw. The design cleverly preserves original elements like red roof tiles and high ceilings, complementing them with minimalist interiors featuring concrete, glass, blonde wood, and leather. Guests appreciate the "beautiful" and "gorgeously renovated property".
- Amenities: The comprehensive spa and wellness center, including indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, steam room, sauna, hammam, and massage treatments, is a significant highlight. A fitness center, a highly-rated restaurant, and thoughtful touches like welcome champagne and dessert also enhance the guest experience.

Common Complaints
Despite overwhelming praise, a few minor recurring issues have been noted by guests:

- Outdoor Pool Temperature: One guest staying in November noted the outdoor pool was "very cold so nobody used it".

From the very first moment, you feel that this place is created with love, intention, and deep care for every detail. The design of the hotel is stunning, the rooms are thoughtfully equipped, and everything is made to make you feel both inspired and deeply comfo...

4.5 stars, really. Almost everything was wonderful. Great rooms, comfy bed, awesome view of the sea. They had a very nice restaurant and a spectacular im-room steam shower. But, the Hammam in the spa was not built correctly and way overheated the top of the spa and way, way underrated the bottom. It was basically unusable. Also, I stayed two and nights and requested the room to be made between 103...

A lovely two-night stay - falling asleep to the sound of the surf was magical. Spacious room & bathroom, excellent housekeeping that understood our request to leave off the mattress topper (most hotels don’t get it…), an outstanding, professional, strong massage from Sotiria, and overall very good service from all the staff. Valet parking, Apivita bathroom amenities, made-to-order breakfast dishes...

My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay here in Chania at The Tanneries. The hotel is modern and beautifully designed, sitting directly on the water just a 15-minute walk from downtown Chania. The staff all speak English and are super attentive. Our room had a great balcony sitting above the water with insanely gorgeous views of the sea, Chania and mountain landscape. Highly, hig...

Great hotel in a fully renovated former tannery. Rooms are good size and well equipped with an excellent rain shower including steam room. Ocean views are amazing and breakfast is absolutely wonderful. There is an indoor pool and a hammam, treatments can be arranged in nice secluded treatment room for two.

The rooms with an ocean balcony are very peaceful and have an outstanding view of the water and sunset. Our favorite was going down to the bar at sunset for cocktails - one of the best experiences we had in our stay in Greece. Highly recommend t...
