Expert Review: BoHo Prague Hotel

BoHo Prague Hotel, a distinguished Michelin Key One-Keys property, consistently garners high praise for its blend of modern luxury, exceptional service, and prime location in the heart of Prague. Recognized for providing "exceptional quality and unforgettable guest experiences," it stands out as a top choice for discerning travelers.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The overall sentiment for BoHo Prague Hotel is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently commending its elegant design, spacious and immaculate rooms, and an excellent central location. It's often described as a "beautiful, low-key boutique hotel" offering a "residential vibe" that feels both personal and polished. Review scores consistently rate it highly for cleanliness, comfort, staff, and location.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently highlight several standout features:

  • Service & Hospitality: The staff receives extensive praise for being warm, welcoming, attentive, helpful, and exceptionally courteous. Many appreciate the personalized concierge service and the welcoming gesture of Prosecco upon arrival. A daily complimentary wine tasting is also a cherished perk.
  • Location: Its central position is a major draw, allowing guests to walk to major attractions such as Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and Wenceslas Square within minutes. Proximity to metro and tram stations further enhances accessibility.
  • Design: The hotel boasts an elegant, modern, and sophisticated design with striking contemporary interiors. Bold furnishings are balanced with a neutral color scheme, and the lobby features high ceilings and full-length windows, reflecting its former life as a newspaper office.
  • Amenities: BoHo Prague Hotel offers a range of facilities including a well-equipped gym, a spa area with a Jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna, a library lounge, and an on-site bar and restaurant.

3. Room Quality

The 57 rooms and suites are consistently described as spacious, comfortable, stylish, and meticulously clean, including spotless bathrooms. Each room is thoughtfully appointed with modern amenities such as a private restroom stocked with luxury toiletries (like Natura Bissé and Roja Dove in suites), a minibar, tea/coffee maker, coffee machine, work desk, and a flat-screen TV. Air conditioning, an iron, and ironing facilities are also standard. While the design is minimalist and elegant, some guests have noted the sheer size of the bathrooms, which can include separate toilet areas, independent baths, two closets, and a walk-in shower.

4. Dining Experience

The on-site "BoHo Restaurant" provides a unique culinary experience, combining historical heritage with gastronomic innovation. It offers a diverse selection of international dishes prepared with fresh produce, complemented by an extensive wine list in an elegant setting. Breakfast is served daily from 7 am to 11 am, featuring a varied buffet and the option to order hot dishes, such as scrambled eggs. While the breakfast quality is high, some guests have expressed disappointment that it is not always included in the room rate. The lobby bar and library also serve coffee and other beverages, and complimentary coffee and pastries are available all day in the library.

5. Service & Staff

The service at BoHo Prague Hotel is a recurring highlight in guest reviews. Staff members are repeatedly lauded for their warmth, attentiveness, and exceptional hospitality. From a welcoming Prosecco upon arrival to personalized concierge services, the team is dedicated to ensuring a memorable stay. Guests frequently mention the staff by name in positive reviews, underscoring the personal and friendly approach of the hotel.

6. Location & Accessibility

BoHo Prague Hotel boasts an unbeatable central location, often cited as one of its greatest assets. It is situated just a 5-minute walk from Old Town Square and within easy reach of iconic landmarks like Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square, and the Prague Astronomical Clock, all within a mile. The hotel's position allows guests to explore Prague's cultural sites, shopping areas, and nightlife conveniently on foot. For further exploration, metro and tram stations are easily accessible, and Prague's main train station is only a five-minute walk away. Václav Havel Prague Airport is approximately 18 km (7-7.5 miles) from the property.

7. Value & Pricing

BoHo Prague Hotel is considered to offer excellent value for a luxury experience in Prague. Average room prices can range from approximately $140 to $295, with variations depending on the room type and season. For instance, a standard room might be around $141, and a superior room around $153. Prices tend to be lower in March and higher in April.

8. Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, some minor criticisms have been noted by guests:

  • Breakfast Inclusion: Some guests were disappointed that breakfast was not always included in their room rate.
  • Bathroom Design: A few reviews mention "transparency" issues with some bathrooms featuring see-through glass, which might not appeal to everyone seeking full privacy. One specific review also pointed out the "weird design choice" of locating the main room closet within the bathroom.
  • Minibar Pricing: The prices for minibar items were described as "ludicrously" high by one reviewer.
  • Room Seating: One guest found the backless office chairs in the rooms to be modern and chic but ultimately impractical and uncomfortable.
  • Noise Levels: Rooms on the lowest floor, particularly family rooms, can experience some noise due to their proximity to the lobby.
  • Spa Functionality: An isolated incident mentioned a sauna malfunction, though this was considered an aberration given the overall efficiency of the hotel's operations.

Great Hotel. Check in and get fast while writing a initial details with complementary drink. Room located in floor 1 where from entrance lobby to elevator is 3-4 steps to take. Cleanliness very high level I can noticed. Breakfast with variety of options maybe some more fruits to go. Great locations in center of Prague. Waiting to come again in Spring.

The rooms where OK, not great, not better then cheaper hotels in prague. Very basic room amenities. We wanted to have breakfast at the hotel but decided not to after seeing the buffet, again very basic. The spa area was nice but less appealing for us. The location was gre...

All elements of our stay at the BoHo Prague were exceptional - from the warm, professional reception to our roomy, well-appointed room with great amenities, the spa, the scrumptious breakfast and always welcoming and informative team. To top it off the location is superb - easy walking distance to every major attraction and yet on a quiet street away from the tourist hordes. Highly recommended!
