While offering a secluded feel, it remains accessible:
- Approximately 30 minutes by car from Shizuoka city center and Shizuoka Station (around 11 miles or 17 km).
- About 27-43 km (15-27 miles) from Shizuoka Airport.
- Nearby attractions include Rengejiike Park Fuji Festival (15 miles/24 km away) and Shimizu Station (17 miles/28 km away).
- Free on-site private parking for up to three cars is available.
- For those using public transportation, a bus from Shizuoka Station North Exit (bus stop 3, bound for Hyuga) takes approximately 45 minutes to Akasawa Shimo, followed by a 3-minute walk. The location is ideal for nature trips, relaxation, hiking, and cycling.

8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points are worth noting:
- Bathroom Facilities: While each room has a private shower booth, there is no traditional bathtub within the rooms. However, the property compensates with a highly-praised outdoor hot tub/open-air bath.
- Isolation: The "isolated" natural setting, while a highlight for many seeking tranquility, might be a minor consideration for those preferring to be within walking distance of urban attractions or relying solely on public transport, as a car is often recommended for greater flexibility.
- Noise: The host family lives on the same premises, and occasionally, footfalls or the voices of their young children (aged 1 and 3) might be audible in guest areas.
- Accessibility: The property is not barrier-free, as stairs are required to access the rooms.

Exceptional location, room and host. Suzuki was a delight from when we arrived to when waving us off when we departed. We stayed for 2 nights and had his beautifully prepared Michelin style courses for dinner each night and were thoroughly impressed by the quality and quantity. He went the extra mile with taking our ingredient preferences into account. We didn't expect it to be so food focused and...

We arrived when it was dark and it was difficult to find the turning in. Our host Suzuki spoke excellent English and came out to lead us up. He was also an excellent cook. The house is beautiful and very well finished with modern amenities in a traditional Japanese setting with an unblocked view of the mountain. Highly recommend to stay here. Best to have your own transport.

B&B Itadaki is a lovely and very posh home in the countryside north of Shizuoka city. We truly enjoyed our stay here, and the only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. The house itself has been renovated and very tastefully decorated, besides being amazingly clean. It had everything we need to relax: an outdoor hot tub, tons of vinyl records, and a tv projector. The kitchen is a little small, ...
