It's often highlighted as a fantastic choice for both families and active holidaymakers seeking a ski-in/ski-out experience in the heart of the Paradiski area.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The overall sentiment for Araucaria Hotel & Spa is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing it as "great," "amazing," and "wonderful." Review scores are consistently high, including a 9.0 on Booking.com and an 8.8/10 on Ski Planet, reflecting a strong guest satisfaction. 2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently laud several aspects of the hotel:

  • Service & Staff: The staff are frequently described as very helpful, friendly, and exceptional, contributing significantly to a positive stay.
  • Location: Its "amazing" and "perfect" ski-in/ski-out location directly next to the ski lifts in Plagne Centre is a major draw, offering unparalleled access to the slopes.
  • Amenities: The comprehensive Nuxe Spa, featuring an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, hammam, ice room, and sensory shower, is a significant highlight, especially for relaxation after skiing. The hotel is also very family-friendly, offering a children's pool with a "treasure island," a dedicated play area with arcade games and babyfoot, a cinema area, and a library. Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, popcorn, and sparkling water are also appreciated "little extras" for guests.
  • Design: The hotel boasts a modern and chic atmosphere, with stylish interiors in navy blue and gray, successfully avoiding traditional ski-hotel kitsch while maintaining an Alpine warmth.

3. Room Quality

The 84 rooms at Araucaria Hotel & Spa are categorized into classic, superior, and family options, with connecting rooms available for larger groups. Guests find the rooms to be clean and sufficiently spacious. They are stylishly decorated with crisp navy blue and gray tones and soft textures. Most rooms feature a balcony, offering pleasant views. Each room includes a flat-screen TV and a small safety deposit box. While some guests have described rooms as "a little small and basic," this is generally considered a minor point overshadowed by the hotel's other attributes.

4. Dining Experience

The dining experience is consistently praised. The on-site restaurant serves themed buffets, often likened to market halls with fresh produce, for dinner, described as "excellent," "amazing," and "elaborate." Breakfast, available until 10 am, is a varied and plentiful buffet, notable for its fresh orange juicer. The hotel's lively cocktail bar provides a pleasant atmosphere for drinks, with guests noting that drinks are not overpriced.

5. Service & Staff

The service and staff at Araucaria Hotel & Spa are a standout feature, frequently receiving accolades from guests. They are consistently described as "very helpful," "friendly," and "exceptional" across various departments, including reception, the restaurant, and the ski shop. This high level of hospitality significantly enhances the guest experience.

6. Location & Accessibility

The hotel boasts an exceptional location in Plagne Centre, making it a true ski-in/ski-out property at the foot of the slopes and central to the vast Paradiski area. It's conveniently located directly next to major ski lifts such as Becoins, Funiplagne, and Colorado, and close to ski schools. The resort center is just a 15-minute walk away, and a local bus stop is also nearby. This prime position provides easy access to 425 km of ski runs and various other winter activities.

7. Value & Pricing

Pricing for double rooms typically ranges from 240 to 520 €, while triple rooms range from 330 to 660 €, often offered on a half-board basis. The average nightly rate hovers around €490 (approximately ₹44,494), with potential lows around €250 (approximately ₹22,607). While the buffet breakfast is plentiful, it costs €23 if not included in the booking. Some guests have found the overall cost to be on the higher side "for what was included," especially when comparing it to other half-board options. However, many consider the experience, facilities, and location to justify the price.

8. Common Complaints

While largely positive, some recurring feedback includes:

  • Breakfast Cost: The buffet breakfast, while good, can be "rather expensive" if not pre-booked as part of a package.
  • Room Size: A few guests have mentioned that the rooms can be "a little small and basic," though this is generally viewed as a minor drawback given the overall quality of the hotel.
  • Ski Storage: The outsourced ski storage lacks designated areas for hotel guests, leading to equipment being mixed and potentially causing inconvenience.
  • Group Noise: On occasion, the presence of large and loud groups has been reported to disrupt the relaxing atmosphere of facilities like the spa and restaurant.

We've stayed here twice now for half term skiing. Both times excellent. Good quality and wide range of choices for breakfast and dinner. Nice bar area with lots of things for the kids. Pool and spa area a real bonus. Right on the slopes and 5 mins walk to centre.

For our first experience in La Plagne, we could not have been more happy with this booking. This hotel has quite literally everything you need- from the ski shop and the incredibly helpful and friendly staff there, to the beautiful spa (for the much needed post-ski recovery), the bar, the views, and of course the delicious dining room. The restaurant staff are top tier! Could not be happier with o...

We visited the hotel in the beggining of ski season. We had a family room (big one) it was nice and clean. All hotel staff were very nice and pleasant! Every time we needed any help or questions we got it from them. We had a room with a view to slope and it was very nice (not all of the rooms have slope view). Ski shop is on the lowest floor it's a bit crowdy in the morning but the equipment is go...

Sadly this is a 2 star hotel charging 5 star prices. The buffet food is very poor quality and virtually identical every morning and evening. Even pizza was clearly made using leftover food! The showers are just a shower head over a bath. There are around 80 rooms and only 30 ski lockers. The staff were lovely and the location is excellent. I would not recommend this hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay at Araucaria Hotel. All members of the staff were exceptionally kind, with a special mention for Nassera, who was so kind towards our baby. The buffet was tasty, the amenities were relaxing, and the bar area in the evening offered the perfect ending of each day. We can highly recommend this hotel to everyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a welcoming atmosp...

★★★★★ A standout stay in La Plagne — Araucaria absolutely delivers Two families, mixed ages, big expectations, and zero patience for “fine” — Araucaria came through on every part of the experience that actually matters: food, service, logistics, and location. The hotel runs with the kind of calm, professional efficiency that you usually only see in places that have been doing it right for a long ...
