It's celebrated for providing a tranquil and intimate experience, often feeling more like a resort than a city hotel.

3. Room Quality
Villa Song Saigon boasts 23 uniquely designed rooms and suites, each offering individual character and charm. Rooms range from the compact Writer's Room (21-30 sqm) ideal for solo travelers, to the expansive Imperial Suite (105 sqm) with a four-poster bed and two private balconies. Common features across room types include plush bedding, elegant interiors, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a complimentary mini-bar. 6. Location & Accessibility
Situated in District 2 (Thao Dien), Villa Song Saigon offers a peaceful and residential setting away from the intense traffic of the city center. While not in the immediate heart of Ho Chi Minh City, its location on the Saigon River provides beautiful views. A significant advantage is the complimentary speedboat service, which transports guests to a central pier in District 1 in approximately seven minutes, running multiple times a day. Taxis to downtown are also readily available and take around 15-20 minutes. District 2 itself has evolved into an expat enclave with its own array of restaurants, cafes, and art centers. The hotel also provides airport transfer services for convenience.
7. Value & Pricing
Villa Song Saigon is generally considered a luxury option, priced comparably to some of Saigon's more expensive hotels. Average room prices are around $170 USD, with deals sometimes found from $77-$136. Guests find it to be a worthwhile investment for the unique experience it offers – intimacy, tranquility, and a resort-like atmosphere that differs significantly from larger downtown hotels. The inclusion of a complimentary mini-bar and all-day breakfast further enhances its perceived value.
8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, some recurring criticisms or issues guests have mentioned include:
- Distance from City Center: Despite the convenient speedboat, some guests still find the location a bit "far away from the life (restaurants, cafes, life)" of District 1, and the speedboat doesn't always run late enough for evening excursions.
- No Elevator: The hotel has three floors but no lift, which can be an inconvenience for some guests, particularly those with mobility issues or heavy luggage.
- Noise and Construction: There have been occasional mentions of disturbances from noise or nearby construction.
- Restaurant Pricing: While praised for quality, some find the restaurant's prices to be on the higher side.
- Gym Size: The fitness center is described as small, with a limited number of machines and weights.
- Air Conditioning: A few older reviews noted noisy air conditioning in some rooms.
- River Debris: In the rainy season, the Saigon River can sometimes have debris.
- Breakfast Beverage Policy: There were some mentions of complexities regarding beverage policies during breakfast.

I really loved this hotel. The location is beautiful - waterfront in district 4 . Wonderful sunrise over Mekong! The hotel offers a free powerboat taxi to and from district 1 from the hotel - this journey only takes 10 mins and it is so much nicer to stay in the more relaxed slightly bohemian neighbourhood here than in the very centre of town in my view. There are so many great places to eat and ...

At the end of January, my wife and I were in Ho Chi Minh City for a few days. We had been tipped off about Villa Song, a so-called boutique hotel. We usually stay in chain hotels, because I fool myself into thinking that my status with the chains will make us have a better experience. We have tried boutique hotels before and been very satisfied, so we should really do it more often. And that wil...

The pool is absolutely beautiful and definitely the highlight of the place. The rooms were nice and clean, though the price feels a bit on the steep side for what’s offered. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn’t quite the same as before the menu has changed and the quality felt a bit lower than what I’ve experienced here in the past. Overall, lovely mainly because of the pool, but there’s room for ...

Don't be taken in by the gloss and hype. Yes its a lovely riverside spot in Ho Chi Minh City's District Two but Villa Song Saigon also doubles as an events space in the peak months. During my weekend booked in January there was 2 weddings on the Saturday and Sunday hosted here which meant constant chaos and the riverside restaurant had no access for dinner or sunset drinks. Even my riverside break...

The bistro used to be quite decent with good quality food; unfortunately it’s not anymore, I ordered rose tea, n got so many extra protein in it, none of the staff seems to care about how disgusting it is… what a pity!

Check they aren't running events during your stay. Loud music forced my wife and I from our room for the evening. They need to decide if they are an events business or a high quality hotel.
