8. Common Complaints
While guest feedback is largely positive, a few minor issues have been noted. One review from 2024 mentioned a "musty odor" in the lobby, which the staff attempted to address, and suggested it might be due to the age of the building. The same review also indicated that the bar was advertised but not yet open, and a "mini bar" trailer was in disrepair. Additionally, the seasonal outdoor pool is unheated, which meant it was quite cold during one guest's stay. Some older reviews also noted issues with a back door and deck in certain rooms. However, the new owner has expressed commitment to addressing guest feedback, focusing on improvements, increasing staff presence, and planning renovations for an unoccupied building to expand capacity.

We stayed one night at this motel during a weekend trip to the Berkshires, and overall it was a mixed experience. First, the customer service was excellent. The front desk AI assistant, Alfred, was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Every question we had was answered quickly, and it definitely made check-in and communication seamless. We also appreciated the little Valentine’...

Truly top tier customer service! Brian was very helpful during our the insane cold snap and storm this weekend. He and his team ensured we were kept warm and walkways safe. Even in the winter this place retains its charm. Location is great! Between Pittsfield and North Adams for perfect access to both locations. Can’t wait to come back in the summer to enjoy even more of the amenities!

When we arrived there were a few dozen guests having a pot luck dinner on the lawn before the party (at a separate location) Contactless check-in to the room was easy. The room is well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. I love t...

Stayed there 1/30/26 to go snowmobiling and it was great. Access to trail 90 is right in the back of their property with truck/trailer parking. Brian the owner is a great host, very accommodating. Cool lobby with a nice fireplace to hang out. No restaurant on site but the old forge is only 8 minutes away.

We stayed at The Springs 9/19 - 9/21. It was a family reunion, so there was a large group of relatives there. Some had cabins, some had motel rooms. All were beautifully renovated, clean, and roomy. The beds were very comfortable! The staff were extremely accommodating. Chris P, in particular, went out of his way to make sure we were all enjoying our visit. The outside area is set up nicely for g...

Fantastic time at the hotel. Perfect for family gatherings. We stayed in Cabin 2 and loved it. Fun, retro charm, comfy beds, and beautiful porch with great view of the mountains. We were able to have a warm campfire too. The Berkshires is so great and this is close enough to all the great places and things to do--especially the ski areas. We'll definitely be back!
