4. Dining Experience
While Spicers Potts Point does not have a full-service restaurant for lunch and dinner, its breakfast and in-room dining options are highly praised:
- Gourmet Breakfast: A gourmet à la carte breakfast is typically included in the room rate and served in the bright and airy Garden Room, often described as feeling like al fresco dining due to natural light. Guests rave about the quality, mentioning fresh fruit, homemade muesli, prosciutto, smoked salmon, flaky breads, and artisan jams from a local company called Jam Alchemist.
- Unique In-Room Dining: A distinguishing feature is the hotel's innovative room service. Guests can order from a selection of nearby award-winning restaurants, and the hotel staff will collect, plate, and deliver the meal to their room for a token fee.

The hotel's inclusion of a gourmet à la carte breakfast and access to a nearby gym adds to its perceived value.
8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points have occasionally been mentioned:
- Initial Room Odor: One guest reported a room smelling of cigarettes upon arrival, though this was promptly and effectively resolved by the staff.
- Parking Cost & Availability: Private parking is available on-site but comes with an additional fee (AUD 40-50 per day) and must be pre-booked due to limited spaces. However, given its central location and proximity to public transport, a car is not always necessary for city exploration.
- No On-Site Lunch/Dinner Restaurant: While the unique in-room dining service from local restaurants is highly appreciated, some guests might initially expect a traditional full-service restaurant within the hotel for all meals, though this is a deliberate choice by Spicers Potts Point to encourage exploration of the local dining scene.

We stayed at Spicer’s recently and we were generally pleased. The location is good. We like that it is near public transit, good dining and bars, while being removed from the touristy sections of town where so many other hotels are. The staff was helpful and warm. The price was good too. This is a good value hotel. We recommend this hotel especially if you’re looking for something away from Sydney...

Came to Sydney almost on a whim and this hotel was highly recommended. The high recommendations are justified. This is a very nice place to stay. It’s not your typical grand scale hotel. It is elegant, boutique lodging in a residential neighborhood. It’s a short walking distance from the Kings Cross train station, which is a huge plus. My journey there after arriving in Sydney was a little more ...

Loved this hotel and wish we stayed longer! Stunning hotel, seems near new, in a convenient location. Philip checked us in and was incredibly kind - he made it feel like home. I loved the aussie scents in the rooms, it was a lovely touch. We will without a doubt return to stay again.
