2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently laud several aspects of Le Celtique & Spa:

  • Wonderful Spa and Pool: The extensive, renovated spa area, spanning over 650 m², features 7 treatment rooms (including a spa suite with private sauna and hammam), and a heated indoor swimming pool. The spa partners with the Breton brand Phytomer®, offering high-quality marine ingredient treatments.
  • Great Location: The hotel is ideally situated just 50 meters (164 feet) from the Grande Plage (main beach) of Carnac, offering splendid views of the islands of Houat and Belle-Île-en-Mer.
  • Friendly and Professional Staff: Numerous reviews highlight the staff's welcoming, helpful, and attentive nature, making guests feel "at home" and well-cared for.
  • Modern and Elegant Design: The hotel's decor subtly combines its original Art Deco spirit with marine themes, creating a modern yet inviting ambiance. Renovations completed in 2021 have further enhanced this appealing aesthetic.

3. Room Quality

The hotel offers 53 rooms and suites, all of which are air-conditioned and feature satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are described as lovely, comfortable, and well-equipped, with good-quality linen and comfy beds. The design incorporates clear wood, rattan, and soft colors, evoking a holiday spirit, with black lines and golden touches adding elegance and sophistication. Many rooms and suites offer balconies or terraces. Room types vary in size and features, from the compact "Coquette Room" (16-18 m²) suitable for short stays, to spacious "Family Suites" (62 m²) designed for comfort with separate areas for parents and children. Junior Suites (26-35 m²) are bright and spacious, with some equipped for guests with reduced mobility. All rooms include private bathrooms with a walk-in shower or bathtub, free toiletries, and soundproofed windows. Bathrobes and slippers are also provided.

4. Dining Experience

Le Celtique & Spa features Le Cairn Restaurant, a French cuisine bistro that focuses on locally sourced seafood. It is open for dinner, and also serves light fare and kids' meals. Guests have described the dinner as "excellent" and an "exceptional dinner," with impeccable service. The hotel also offers a copious buffet breakfast (available for a surcharge). Additionally, the Boudicca Bar provides a relaxed setting for drinks and light lunch options.

6. Location & Accessibility

The hotel boasts a superb location on Avenue des Druides, approximately 50 meters from Carnac Beach (Grande Plage). This provides easy access to the beach and offers scenic views of the islands of Houat and Belle-Île-en-Mer. It's also well-situated for exploring the wider Morbihan region of Southern Brittany, including the Quiberon peninsula and the Gulf of Morbihan, known for its megalithic sites, nautical activities, and picturesque towns. Local attractions like Luna Park Distractions are within 500 meters. An "Office du Tourisme" bus stop is conveniently located nearby, offering direct links to city attractions. Pre-booked car parking with lift access to all rooms is available, which is considered a significant bonus by guests. The hotel is also LGBTQ+ friendly.

7. Value & Pricing

While the value for money rating is generally good at 8.4 out of 10, some recent reviews suggest a strong satisfaction with the overall quality of the stay. As of January 28, 2026, prices for a 1-night stay for two adults start from approximately $100.81, excluding taxes and fees, though prices are subject to change based on dates. Guests often feel that the quality of services, facilities, and the prime location justify the cost.

8. Common Complaints

While overall complaints are few due to the high satisfaction rates, a recurring comment noted in some reviews is that access to the spa is sometimes subject to an additional charge. Although the spa facilities are highly praised, this point can be a minor inconvenience for some guests. One older review mentioned a "room too small with impression of oppression," but this is an isolated comment and overall room comfort and size are positively reviewed, especially with the recent renovations.

We stayed for a short week at the Celtique and had a wonderful time. The welcome was warm, the room clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We were even pleasantly surprised to be upgraded, as our initial room was on the side of the street where construction was taking place. The pool area is very pleasant, with a real bonus: it closes at 6 pm for children, allowing for a peaceful moment. The spa ...

A wonderful 80-minute break, I had the privilege of being massaged by Aziliz. Very gentle and caring, her massage is both soft and firm—quite simply perfect!

Great hotel, warm welcome, nice room with balcony. Breakfast was excellent 👍, as was the pool. Parking costs €15 per day. There's no guarantee of a spot, so parking further down the street is also free. Sauna costs extra. The price-quality ratio is a bit high. Wine and beer are really too much for just sitting on the terrace. But we'll definitely be back 👍🏖️ The beach is around the corner, as a...
