The rooms at Hotel Keyforest Hokuto are described as classy, spacious, and very clean, featuring bright openings to nature. Each of the six rooms, along with two additional villa rooms, is uniquely named after elements in the ancient Jomon language, reflecting the area's rich history. They boast modern amenities, private bathrooms, and either a balcony or terrace with scenic mountain views, ensuring a relaxing stay. The design features minimalist décor with refined, earthy materials like native wood and stone. Futuristic touches are evident in the asymmetric windows and glass-cubed bathrooms, though toilets are thoughtfully separated. Some rooms also offer private spa tubs or hot springs.
4. Dining Experience
The hotel offers a highly regarded dining experience. Guests have praised the "very good" dinner and "delicious" breakfast, often served directly in the room for a secluded stay. The on-site restaurant serves American cuisine for lunch and dinner, focusing on dishes made with local ingredients from the Yatsugatake Nanroku area. The resort also includes the Keylight Steakhouse, located on an adjacent plot, which specializes in flavorful steaks, including local Koshu Wine beef, and offers a selection of Yamanashi wines. Designed by architect Atsushi Kitagawara, the hotel building is an impressive concrete and glass structure surrounded by nature. The interior is modern and minimalist with wooden floors and western furniture — no tatami mats or sliding doors. We stayed for two nights in a spacious with two large beds, a sitting area, a closet, and a big balcony with lounge chairs. The bathroom had a large glass-en...

The staff were lovely and accommodating of our needs. Very professional but also warm and friendly. Made our stay a standout. The whiskey bar was just a bonus and the Keith Haring museum is wonderfully curated. Highly recommend.

The team at Hotel Keyforest were incredible for our entire stay. They helped me organize a marriage proposal and the whole moment went perfectly. It's stressful organizing a proposal on a trip to a foreign country and I couldn't have done it without Takaki, Mariko and the rest of the team. In the end I think they were more invested and nervous about the proposal going well than I was lol! Their pr...

Beautiful hotel tucked away in Kobuchizawa. A must visit for Keith Haring fans. On the more expensive side (no dinner attached) but can eat next door at the steakhouse. Lovely rooms and views. Roughly 2 hours from Tokyo with no traffic. The staff is incredibly helpful and can arrange activities for you in the area. Plenty of things to do both indoors and outdoors!

To our very pleasant surprise, this turned out to be one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in some really great ones). The rooms were gorgeous and big, with amazing views of the surrounding ...
