Stayed at El Capitain hotel in Merced last night. Very lovely hotel with a perfect little coffee shop, decent restaurant, and beautiful options around the hotel to sit with some friends or your laptop. The rooms are typical business hotel rooms, but with little extra touches like coat hooks on the wall, nice bathrobes, hallways that look attractive. Windows are open-able which I appreciate. Loved ...

Nicely designed rooms and hotel. A more interesting choice then the typical chain hotel. Nice tall showerhead with great toiletries supplied. Convenient location. Windows do an excellent job preventing the noise from close by highway, train tracks, and police station from being heard from inside. Room was very quite and bed was comfortable. Covered parking in garage next door. Also pet friendly!...

Loved the atmosphere of the hotel. The front desk agents were welcoming and kind. The cocktails at the on-site bar and café, Native Son, were amazing and I had great conversations with the bartenders. I loved the room, so eclectic, and it had a mini fridge and a TV with the option to connect to streaming services. It was so clean and comfortable in the room. Multiple hotels and bars, a movie theat...

Well kept hotel & friendly staff. Convenient free parking. Nice cafe attached with good & reasonably priced food. Only downside is the street and hotel noise (walls are thin) but they do provide earplugs.

El Capitan really is a delightful boutique hotel. The recently remodeled rooms are restful, pleasantly decorated and with all the amenities. I especially enjoyed the hotpot which allowed me to easily make tea (without coffee flavor from a coffee maker). The bed was very comfortable, plus plenty of outlets to plug in. Customer service - at the front desk, housekeeping and in the Rainbird Restaurant...

This hotel is a beautiful, retro/modern/updated OG-type hotel with front desk, bell/valet staff, and different restaurants on the property. All staff were friendly and professional. Example: Jasmine at the front desk gave our two dogs their own plush/velvety squeaky toys when we checked in. That has NEVER happened with other hotels/AirBnBs! What a nice welcoming touch! Robert, Valet, was very hel...
