Bliss Boutique Hotel in Breda, Netherlands, a Michelin Key Selected property, consistently receives high praise for its prime location, uniquely designed suites, and overall luxurious experience. Guests often describe it as a charming and stylish hotel offering a relaxing base in the heart of the city.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The general consensus for Bliss Boutique Hotel is overwhelmingly positive, with an overall "Good" to "Exceptional" rating. Review scores frequently highlight its excellent location (9.4), good comfort (8.2), and strong WiFi (9.1). Many guests have expressed their love for the hotel, noting its unique and well-appointed accommodations.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently love several aspects of Bliss Boutique Hotel. Its fantastic central location is a major draw, placing guests steps away from numerous cafes, shops, and attractions. The spacious and individually designed suites are also a significant highlight, offering a luxurious and unique atmosphere. The inclusion of complimentary Netflix and fireplaces in the rooms adds to the comfort and appeal. Other notable features include reliable free Wi-Fi, a "lovely" or "delicious" breakfast, and an efficient, albeit sometimes unconventional, hologram check-in system. The hotel also offers a sauna and options for in-room massages.

3. Room Quality

The rooms at Bliss Boutique Hotel are predominantly suites, characterized by their luxurious, spacious, and individually themed designs. Each suite is decorated with a unique theme, creating a distinct ambiance, such as the "Dickens & Jones Suite" with its classical English style and fireplace. Guests frequently commend the comfort of the large beds and the ample space provided. The suites are soundproofed and feature spacious seating areas, air conditioning, modern bathrooms with bathrobes and slippers, and a pillow menu. Many rooms also offer great views, including some of the cathedral.

4. Dining Experience

The hotel features an on-site restaurant called Chocolat. A buffet breakfast is offered daily for an additional charge, typically around EUR 23.60 per person. While many guests describe the breakfast as "delicious" with "lots of fun items" and a choice of eggs, some reviews indicate a mixed experience. There have been occasional complaints of the breakfast being "disappointing," "minimal and stale," or less elaborate than in the past.

5. Service & Staff

Feedback on service and staff is generally positive, with guests appreciating good communication and efficient processes. The "hologram check-in" is a unique feature that guests found interesting and efficient, though some noted it felt a "bit impersonal." The overall staff rating is 8.0, with some guests specifically mentioning helpful staff who went out of their way, such as assisting in finding late-night dining options.

6. Location & Accessibility

The Bliss Boutique Hotel boasts a superb and very central location in Breda's historic center. It is ideally situated next to the Grote Kerk (Cathedral) and the Grote Markt, putting guests within easy walking distance of countless cafes, restaurants, and shops. Popular attractions like the Beguinage and the Graphic Design Museum are also nearby, within 500 meters. Breda Railway Station is conveniently less than a 15-minute walk away, providing easy access to other cities. Bicycle rental is also available at the hotel for exploring the local area.

7. Value & Pricing

The hotel is generally rated 7.7 for value for money. Prices for a 1-night stay for two adults can start from approximately $124.49, excluding taxes and fees. Guests looking for more economical rates might find better deals during the low season, typically December and June. Weeknights, particularly Wednesday or Thursday, tend to be less expensive than weekend nights.

8. Common Complaints

While largely positive, some recurring issues and criticisms have been noted by guests. These include occasional noise due to the hotel's central location, a potential drawback for light sleepers. The breakfast experience has garnered mixed reviews, with some finding it disappointing or lacking variety. There have also been instances of maintenance issues in rooms, such as non-functional fireplaces, hanging lights or plugs, and issues with showerheads or shower floors. Some guests found the hologram receptionist impersonal, preferring a more traditional human interaction. Minor details, like inconsistent coffee refills or lack of teaspoons in rooms, have also been mentioned.

The young managers are absolutely horrible. Lots of arrogance and unfairness towards guests and especially their staff. The owners should be aware of this behaviour. I recommend staying at any other hotel in the beautiful town of Breda.

We stayed in the Business Suite (room 8) at the top floor. Spacious, with a see-through fireplace, double shower, bathtub and an extra pull-out bed. Through the skylights you can spot the Grote Kerk, though not a real view. Check-in via hologram felt a bit impersonal, the elevator was out, and there was no minibar. The hotel bar was closed (Sat–Sun) and the breakfast room has limited seating, so ...

A huge spacious room but I missed the finishing touch. The decoration and certainly the carpet is dated and the room could have been decorated more attractively. There was no manual anywhere to find how to turn on the fireplace! The huge shower ...

Amazing hotel…location is amazing, with bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Rooms are amazing. Had a room on the top floor with a fire in the middle, which was awesome as it was -7 outside! Staff are great, breakfast is a relaxed affair. Really enjoyed the stay!!
