Dining Experience
Gastronomy is central to the Baumanière experience, which offers two gourmet restaurants:
- L'Oustau de Baumanière: This legendary establishment holds three Michelin stars and a green star for 2025, with Chef Glenn Viel at the helm. The cuisine is described as refined, subtle, creative, and unpretentious, focusing on local products from the terroir. Dining on the terrace, especially under mulberry trees, is highlighted as a memorable experience. The restaurant has a rich history, having even trained Wolfgang Puck.
- La Cabro d'Or: Located amidst lush gardens, La Cabro d'Or offers a Provençal gastronomic cuisine crafted by Chef Michel Hulin, emphasizing local ingredients, including fragrant olive oil from the Baux valley. It provides an intimate atmosphere and a serene terrace overlooking nature.
Breakfast, often a complimentary cooked-to-order offering, is consistently praised as superb. The hotel's organic vegetable garden contributes fresh produce to both restaurants.

Common Complaints
Despite its many accolades, a few recurring criticisms have been noted by guests:
- Room Decor: Some guests have found the decor in certain rooms, even those with historical significance, to be somewhat dated, bland, or tired for the price point, expecting more vibrant colors and stylish older furnishings. One reviewer noted a suite was "very dark inside" due to limited natural light.
- Dining Inconsistencies (Rare): While generally exceptional, one review of the 3-Michelin-starred restaurant mentioned a few dishes that were "unmemorable" or "close to tasteless," and an initial reluctance from the sommelier to accommodate different wine pairings.
- Pet Management: A specific complaint cited unattended dog mess in the swimming pool area, leading to suggestions for increased staff vigilance or restrictions on pets in those areas.

Disappointing! Especially at this price and reputation. The rooms and grounds are in dire need of improvement. Our shower head would spray up at the ceiling and also flood the bathroom within a couple minutes due to poor drainage. For a 5 star resort, I am expecting nicely landscaped pathways, but our routes to the reception and pool were on gravel roads… I should be able to walk from my room to ...

We came to Baumanière for our 10 years anniversary. Upon our arrival, we were delighted by the warm welcome and the courtesy of the staff. After checking, we were accompanied to the room in the Manor. A little room for improvement here could have been to offer a refreshment with a small snack like we had in other establishments of the same caliber. We have not booked for a large room and we were h...

This hotel has 2 main areas which are about half a mile apart. We were "upgraded" to the area which is higher up, and has less features (maybe because we brought our 2 year old). We explored the lower area as well which had much more life and things to see. We would have prefered to stay in the lower area if given the choice. The a/c in our room was not cooling the area properly which caused for s...
